CISDI’s sci-tech innovations applauded at conference

A decade of CISDI achievements were celebrated at a science and technology conference staged at the company’s HQ in Chongqing.

Leading tech products CISDigital and the AICON took centre-stage and the event also looked ahead to goals in innovation set for the next five years.

The event was organised to update and inform the sector of steel developments in China and around the globe.

Attendees included China’s North-Eastern University, China’s Metallurgical Information and Standardisation Institute, the Science and Technology Commission of Chongqing Municipality and the Chongqing Intellectual Property Administration.

CISDI won high praise for its many breakthroughs to date, and its laser-like focus on research to further innovative developments for the steel sector, by Yong Gan, a member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and president of The Chinese Society for Metals.

“CISDI boasts high-calibre talent for steel sci-tech research and is an incubator for research and development,” commented Yong Gan.

“A front runner for the steel industry, CISDI has made breakthroughs in new materials, new products, intelligent equipment, intellisense, nano material and temperature transducers.

“It has spearheaded green, intelligent manufacturing. Baowu Shaogang’s integrated centralised control centre, which is based on CISDigital tech, takes the lead in world ironmaking intelligence.”

Guodong Wang, a fellow member of Chinese Academy of Engineering, gave a lecture on intelligent steel manufacture.

His informative talk on the industrial internet platform and its methodology covered cyber-physical systems, the real-time digital twin, three major advantages of steel CPS, six characteristics of CPS and the industrial internet platform-based steel CPS.

In his welcoming speech, Xuewen Xiao, the chairman of CISDI Group, stressed: “We see sci-tech innovation for corporate developments as our priority. Oriented to market needs and guided by front-edge tech, we have created a host of benchmark systems and products.

“They are firsts not only in China but in the world steel sector and are the backbone of our business.”

Innovation strategic agreements signed at the event between CISDI Group and the North-Eastern University and the Chinese metallurgical Information and Standardisation Institute will see these organisations synchronise their resources and strengths to promote further industrial advancements.

Peng Xiao, the CEO of CISDI Group, delivered a report on CISDI’s 10 years of successful innovations - from its consulting services, steel processes and equipment to green and intelligent manufacturing and the development of tech for the smart city. He set out company’s bold plans for the next five years of research and development.
