Turkey’s first application of top-combustion hot stove tech has been successfully carried out by CISDI.
Four hot stoves built to an EPC mode by CISDI for Isdemir’s blast furnace ironmaking plant in Turkey feature the top combustion tech. They have been heated up and the 3,500 cubic-metre volume blast furnace 1 will soon be blown-in.
Furnace 1’s CISDI-supplied refractory building was completed in June 2024.
CISDI has a long list of achievements in top-combustion hot stove tech, its star equipment being the process valve, gas booster and combustion fan. It has now designed and supplied 11 stoves to Turkey, eight of which are in operation.
Isdemir is held by OYAK, Turkey’s mining and metallurgy giant. OYAK’s annual steel production capacity is over 8 million tonnes, the largest of its kind in Turkey and among the world’s top 50.
CISDI’s team is providing technical assistance services onsite at Isdemir, ensuring all operations and testing in the heating up period fulfill the stoves’ performance guarantee before handover.
